New Jersey Center for Biomaterials

Operating at the heart of a network of academic, industrial and military researchers, the New Jersey Center for Biomaterials creates specialized educational opportunities that complement the excellent training programs of our member institutions.

The NIH funds the Center's Postdoctoral Training in Tissue Engineering and Biomaterials Science, a program providing individualized training that prepares researchers through interdisciplinary, translational and cross-sector experiences.

Courses and workshops serve both academic and industrial scientists with special topics drawn from newly emerging biomaterials science and technology.

A Biomaterials Lecture Series has been endowed by the Rutgers Class of 1954. The first event was held in March 2006, starting a progression of presentations by international leaders in biomaterials science.

The biennial New Jersey Symposia on Biomaterials Science have become a tradition since the first event in 1992. Spanning the full range from basic science to technology transfer, these international conferences attract 300 people to a stimulating exchange of new biomaterials knowledge.
