There is always something new happening at the New Jersey Center for Biomaterials

From discovery and research through testing and evaluation, you can find the seeds of breakthrough medical products at the New Jersey Center for Biomaterials and the Center for Dermal Research.  Our scientists are creating new biomaterials, biomedical devices, methods of drug delivery and combining them to develop new treatments.  Many of our projects focus on creating the biomaterial scaffolds that can help to regenerate lost tissues, such as bone, skin, nerve and cartilage.

Several companies have obtained licenses to use some of our materials in new healthcare products.  These materials are already in the bodies of almost 100,000 patients, and other materials are being tested in clinical trials.
